The online exam is live-proctored and involves more than simply logging into a website. While it’s a great option for candidates not located near an exam site, we highly recommend attending a local in-person exam session whenever possible. 

There are specific hardware/software requirements and multiple post-registration steps that must be completed to avoid disqualification, so before registering, make sure you fully understand the process and requirements for successful participation, as detailed below.

The Online Exam Process: 

Your participation in the online exam requires completion of TWO SEPARATE SECTIONS prior to your exam. These steps are mandatory. If either section is incomplete, you will not be permitted to test.

In the table below, we've outlined each section for completion, and instructions for getting it done. To summarize:

1. GetBadged Section
   1. Your GetBadged Candidate Profile & Support Doc Uploads must be fully completed prior to score release.
   2. If your profile is incomplete when scores are posted, you will be disqualified, and your exam score will not be released—now or at any point in the future.
      1. Verify: Log back into your account and confirm your profile is complete and successfully saved. Claims of “completed but not saved” will not be considered valid.
2. IOS Section
   1. Through the IOS Candidate Portal link, confirm your attendance, upload your valid ID, download (2) apps through the IO Solutions within 72 hours prior to your exam. 
      1. GetBadged will email your exam confirmation, including the required link, approximately 10 days before your scheduled exam date. All steps must be completed before the 72-hour deadline to participate in the exam. 
   2. This link expires 4 days prior to your exam.
   3. If you have not completed all required IOS steps before the link expires, no further accommodations will be made.

   4. By registering for an online exam, you agree that you are able to meet all requirements necessary for participation and understand that failure to do so will result in your inability to take the exam. No refunds, credits, or exam date transfers will be issued if participation requirements are not met.

3. Hardware:

   1. A computer or laptop running either Windows 10 or later, or running MacOS 10.13 or later.

   2. iPads, tablets, Chromebooks, and mobile devices are not permitted.

If a PD is listed as the exam venue, can I only apply to that department?

No. When an exam is hosted at a department, it’s not exclusive to that agency. All GetBadged members are welcome to register and test. The department is simply offering their space as a convenient venue.

Because you’re testing through GetBadged, your score can be used to apply to any and all departments hiring with GetBadged—not just the hosting PD.

Registration Deadlines:

• In-Person Exams: Registration closes at 9:00 AM the day before the exam.
• Online Exams: Registration closes at 9:00 AM, 7–10 days prior to the exam date.

Please Note: Registration for all exams may close earlier if filled to capacity—it's whichever comes first. Online exams often sell out 1–2 months in advance, while in-person exams typically reach capacity a few weeks before the test date. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
