Minimum Requirements

The eligibility criteria for POST Certified Officers and Lateral Transfer Officers are outlined below to provide a clear list of qualifications required for each category. 

Requirements: POST Certified Officers

POST Certified Officers must meet the following qualifications necessary to apply:

• To be considered eligible for this position, applicants must hold current FT Police Officer status, and be POST Certified.
• Must be of good moral character and fit for employment, as determined by the POST Commission.

Requirements: Lateral Transfer Officers

Lateral Transfer Officers must meet the following qualifications necessary for consideration:

• A FT enforcement officer from any U.S. law enforcement agency must have experience in his/her agency to be considered as a Lateral Transfer.
• A FT Lateral Transfer applicant must be in good standings with the National Decertification Index (NDI).
• Must be of good moral character and fit for employment, as determined by the POST Commission.

 

Salary & Compensation

The Mansfield PD offers a competitive salary & benefits compensation package as outlined below. Additional details provided upon request.

• Salary starting at $63,506.48 for step one, and credit is given for experience.
• MPD has recently approved full education benefits for Bachelor's and Master's Degrees (Quinn Bill equivalent).
