Job Description
Roxbury Community College Police Department – Now Hiring Lateral Transfer Officers! Be the experience that builds the future.
Roxbury Community College Police Department (RCCPD) is building its inaugural sworn police force — and we’re looking for experienced, POST-Certified officers ready to bring their professionalism, initiative, and leadership to a department that’s redefining what campus policing looks like.
This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven institution that’s creating a new model for community policing on a vibrant, diverse college campus in the heart of Boston.
Why Join RCCPD as a Lateral Transfer?
- Lead the Evolution — Bring your experience to a department being built from the ground up, and help shape policy, training, and culture from day one.
- Serve a Learning Community — Engage with students, faculty, and staff in a proactive, service-based environment where mentorship matters as much as enforcement.
- Big-City Energy. Campus Connection. — Located in the heart of Roxbury, RCCPD bridges higher education and urban public safety in one of Boston’s most diverse neighborhoods.
- Your Experience Matters — The department is seeking confident, community-minded officers who bring calm, leadership, and accountability to every interaction.
- Where Collaboration is Culture — Work alongside college administrators, security staff, and student leaders to build trust and shared responsibility.
- Career Growth Ahead — The department is expanding rapidly, with leadership opportunities—including supervisory and command roles—on the horizon.
RCCPD isn’t just creating a police department — it’s building a public safety model centered on education, integrity, and connection. If you’ve got the experience, the mindset, and the drive to be part of something new, this is your moment.
