Minimum Requirements
- Certification: Must be POST Certified.
- Training: Must have received Academy training through the full-time MPTC Police Academy.
- Fitness Test: Must pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT), administered by the Human Resources Division of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Background & Examinations: Must pass an extensive background investigation, medical examination, and psychological evaluation.
- Non-Smoker: Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 41, Section 101A, candidate(s) must be a non-smoker for a period of one (1) year prior to appointment.
- Residency: In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, candidate must establish residency within 15 miles of the limits of the Town of Marion within one (1) year from the date of appointment.
