Holliston PD: FT Lateral Transfer Officer 2025

Your Role: 

• Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist in emergency situations.
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence related to criminal offenses.
• Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain accurate reports and documentation of incidents and investigations.
• Engage with community members to foster positive relationships and promote public safety.

• Working knowledge of modern police procedures, laws, and use-of-force standards.
• Ability to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action.
• Proficient in self-defense tactics, firearms, and emergency vehicle operation.

• Competent in computer use and report writing.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills; professional appearance and demeanor.
• Emotionally stable with the ability to handle stress and confront hostile individuals.
• Physically capable of performing arrests, pursuing suspects, and managing high-stress incidents.
• Must meet wellness standards per M.G.L. c.31 §§ 61A–61B (for hires after Nov. 1, 1996).

Annual Salary (FY26 - July 2025): 

• $63,304.83 - $85,799.63 (High School Diploma, Patrol Officer)
• $94,004.56 (Bachelor's Degree, 2-Year Patrol Officer)
• $98,091.76 (Master's Degree, 2-Year Patrol Officer)

Annual Salary (FY27 - July 2026): 

• $63,304.83 - $85,799.63 (High School Diploma, Patrol Officer)
• $99,072.48 (Bachelor's Degree, 2-Year Patrol Officer)
• $103,200.76 (Master's Degree, 2-Year Patrol Officer)

Applicants who have previously worked as a full-time sworn police officer with full Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) academy training (or its equivalent), will have that previous time count for purposes of placement on the salary and vacation accrual schedules.
