Minimum Requirements
To be considered an eligible to apply, applications must:
- Have completed a Full-Time MPTC Police Academy (Municipal Police Training Committee), and/or obtained a permanent exemption from the MPTC that has been approved and accepted by the Massachusetts State Police.
- Must have obtained Massachusetts POST Certification.
- Must have 3-years of sworn full-time law enforcement experience, or a combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Must have:
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, or
- Related field of study from an accredited University or College, or
- A Bachelor's Degree in any subject matter from an accredited University or College, or
- A combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
- Must have active certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Must have an active, unrestricted Massachusetts Class A License to Carry a Firearm (LTC-A), without restrictions (M.G.L. Chapter 140, Section 131).
