Job Description
The Massachusetts General Hospital Police & Security is accepting applications from qualified, FT Lateral Transfer Officers looking to join our team. The MGH PD provides a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors, and employees by enforcing hospital regulations, and maintaining active, continuous vigilance.
As an MGH PD officer, you will respond to, and when necessary, initiate investigations involving complaints and/or possible criminal conduct. MGH officers work under the authority of a special state police along with the proper State of Massachusetts General Laws as needed, utilizing power of arrest or by seeking criminal complaint as needed.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered an eligible candidate for the role of FT Lateral Transfer Officer, applicants much meet or exceed the Minimum Requirements as specified below.
- Must have your MA POST Certification
- Must be in good standing with the MA POST Commission
- Must be able to receive Massachusetts State Police Officer (SSPO) designation
- Have a strong character background
- Be willing and able to meet the duties and obligations of an MGH PD Police Officer
- Must pass thorough background investigation
