Minimum Requirements

Make sure you qualify before you hit Apply! 

• Must have successfully completed the Massachusetts Police Training Council (MPTC) Full-Time Police Academy, and be POST Certified. (Bridge Academy certification does not meet the requirements for this position.)
• Must have the ability to successfully the standards for the MPTC Physical Abilities Test (PAT), and a medical and psychological fitness for duty examination.
• Must pass a thorough Background Investigation.
• Have a strong character background.
• Be willing and able to meet the duties and obligations of a Malden Police Officer.

• Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist in emergency situations.
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence related to criminal offenses.
• Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain accurate reports and documentation of incidents and investigations.
• Engage with community members to foster positive relationships and promote public safety.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.

Salary & Compensation

Serve Hard, Earn Big. The Malden PD offers a competitive salary & benefits compensation package:

Salary

Salary: 

• Annual: $68,938 - $72,696 (Does not include 6% shift differential, education incentive, or longevity pay.)

• Bi-Weekly: $2,651 - $2,796
