Minimum Requirements

Do You Qualify?

✔️ Must have successfully completed the Massachusetts Police Training Council (MPTC) Full-Time Police Academy, and be POST Certified.
✔️ Have the ability to pass the standards for the MPTC Physical Abilities Test (PAT's), Medical Exam and Psychological Fitness for Duty Examination.
✔️ Have a strong character background.
✔️ Be willing and able to meet the duties and obligations of a Medford Police Officer.
✔️ Must pass a thorough background investigation.

Core Responsibilities

Where You'll Lead:

• Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist in emergency situations.
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence related to criminal offenses.
• Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain accurate reports and documentation of incidents and investigations.
• Engage with community members to foster positive relationships and promote public safety.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.

Salary

Annual Salary: 

• $64,081 - $76,721 (New Contract Pending, July, FY2026)
