RCC Campus

RCC PD isn’t just hiring — we’re building. If you’re a proven leader ready to take the reins as Lieutenant, this is your moment to make your mark and shape something entirely new. As RCCPD’s Lieutenant, you’ll work side by side with Chief David Albanese to establish the department’s first sworn officer corps — setting the tone, structure, and standards for generations of officers to come.

This role isn’t about maintaining the status quo — it’s about creating a model of modern campus policing that combines integrity, mentorship, and community engagement with operational excellence. As Lieutenant, you’ll be leading by example — coaching new officers, shaping policy, and creating a department culture grounded in respect, trust, and visibility.

Your leadership will directly influence how the department:

  • Engages with students, faculty, and the community through trust-based relationships.
  • Builds an environment where proactive, community-based policing replaces reactive response.
  • Mentors the next generation of campus officers.
  • Influences training programs, community partnerships, and operational strategy.
  • Establishes best practices that will serve as the blueprint for future college policing models statewide.

This is more than a title — it’s a turning point. Your experience, voice, and leadership will help shape the future of safety, trust, and service on one of Boston’s most mission-driven campuses.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the RCC PD's Lieutenant's position, applicants must meet all of the requirements.

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience (Sergeant rank or higher preferred).
  • Massachusetts POST Certification (active & in good standing).
  • Completion of an MPTC Full-Time Academy or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership and mentorship ability — capable of inspiring others and building cohesion from the ground up.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to lead with empathy and accountability.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

Salary & Compensation

RCC PD goes beyond the paycheck. To support our officers, we offer a rewarding and generous compensation benefits package.
