Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Full-Time Lateral Transfer Officer position, you must meet the following requirements:

Must hold current Full-Time Police Officer status, and be POST Certified.
Be a full-time enforcement officer from any U.S. law enforcement agency with experience in his/her agency may apply to join the Department as a Lateral Transfer.
- Out of state Lateral Transfers, must have an MPTC Exemption or Massachusetts Police Officer Certification.
Must be certified and in good standings with the National Decertification Index (NDI).
Must be of good moral character and fit for employment, as determined by the POST Commission.
