Job Description
Roxbury Community College Police Department – Now Hiring! Be part of something new. Be part of the team that builds it.
Roxbury Community College Police Department (RCCPD) is building its first-ever sworn police force — transforming from a security-based model into a fully certified public safety agency. This is a rare opportunity to be part of an evolving department that’s shaping the future of campus policing and community trust from the ground up.
The department is currently hiring for Entry-Level Officers, while Certified/Lateral Transfer Officers will receive first consideration as the department looks to fill its Lieutenant position to help lead, mentor, and establish this brand-new command structure.
The Badge Begins at the RCC PD — And You Set the Standard.
- A First-of-Its-Kind Opportunity — Help lay the foundation for a new campus police department, bringing leadership, integrity, and innovation to a college community committed to growth and inclusion.
- Serve in the Heart of Boston — Located in the vibrant Roxbury neighborhood, RCC’s urban setting provides unique opportunities for community engagement, mentorship, and real impact.
- Diversity & Inclusion in Action — RCC is known for its diverse student body and commitment to equity. Officers here serve a mission-driven community of learners from all walks of life.
- Community First Policing — Build relationships, not just cases. Officers will focus on proactive engagement, student outreach, and safety education.
- Career Growth Ahead — As the department expands, leadership opportunities will grow. Be part of a team that rewards initiative and invests in professional development.
- A Mission That Matters — RCCPD’s goal isn’t just safety—it’s trust, connection, and creating a secure environment where students and staff can thrive.
Be Part of the Start. This is a chance for aspiring officers to help shape a department that reflects the spirit of its community.
