Minimum Requirements
Do You Meet All the Requirements? See If You Qualify:
✔️ Be a U.S. Citizen (by birth or naturalization) or provide proof of legal authority to work as a police officer in the United States.
✔️ Be at least 21 years of age at the time of the exam.
✔️ Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
✔️ Possess a valid Massachusetts's driver's license.
✔️ Have the ability to obtain a Massachusetts Class A License to Carry a Firearm (LTC-A) at the time of hire.
✔️ Have the ability to pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT's) standards, as defined by the MPTC, as well as a medical exam and psychological fitness for duty examination.
✔️ Have a strong character background.
✔️ Be willing and able to meet the duties and obligations of a Seekonk Police Officer.
✔️ Have the ability to successfully complete the Massachusetts Police Training Council (MPTC) Full-Time Police Academy.
✔️ Not be a convicted felon or have convictions from another jurisdiction that would be treated as a felony in the Commonwealth.
✔️ Not smoke and stay a non-smoker. Smoking tobacco products is prohibited as outlined by G.L. Chapter 41 Section 101A of the Massachusetts General Laws.
✔️ Must pass a thorough background investigation.
✔️ Must have received a passing score of 70% or above on the getbadged Entry Exam.
